Its the Vikings against the Raiders for the European Crown

As Europe swelters under record temperatures one place where football fans will be hoping that people keep their cool will be at the Tivoli Stadium in Innsbruck this evening when the current Austrian and CEFL champions, the Swarco Raiders Tirol, take on the Dacia Vienna Vikings – one of the most successful teams on the continent, for the European Club Team Championship crown.
The road to the final has not been easy for either team having had Europe’s finest club teams in their path.

The Vikings have come through the Badelona Dracs (ESP) and the Triangle Razorbacks (DEN) whilst the Raiders have seen off stern tests from the Thonon Black Panthers (FRA), the Seamen Milano (ITA) and the Calanda Broncos (SWI).

Gregor Murth, IFAF’s Director for Europe, praised the teams for reaching the final and paid tribute to the success of the tournament.
‘This game should be a real showpiece for European club football. Both teams have real pedigree and I would advise everyone to watch the game either at the stadium or on the live stream.’

Murth concluded ‘I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the ECTC this season. There is much to be proud of.’
The kick-off will be at 19:00 CET and Raiders TV will broadcast live with an English commentary (reporting will begin at 18:30 CET).
