Chair of IFAF’s European Officiating Committee, Davie Parsons, has reported that the European Officiating Clinic, held online this year due to COVID restriction was, given the circumstances an unprecedented success.
“It was always going to be a challenge to run our first Online clinic as this type of training is best delivered face to face. It is the biggest event in the Officiating training calendar and provides the opportunity to deliver presentations on rules and mechanics as well as promoting consistency in the philosophy and application rules.”
Parsons continued “Our European members demonstrated fantastic support for the Clinic, held over 4 Sundays in February. 351 Officials registered to attend representing 26 Countries.” Presentations were delivered by SEC Official, Alex Barinaga; Davie Parsons, OC Committee Chair in Europe and Frank Kristensen, Co-ordinator of Officials in Europe. Additional insight and context were provided by Jim Briggs, IFAF Football Rules Editor and Einar Bolstad, Officiating Performance Officer in Europe.
