Uruguay

The Uruguayan League of American Football (LUFA) consists of four teams: Barbarians, Emperors, Golden Bulls and Spartans, who will compete in the 2009 tackle football season for the major category.

The sport of American football has been firmly established in the country and league directors, players and fans fully expect to achieve LUFA’s goals in short, medium and long terms.

Also, the association has its National Team, the Charruas, who will continue to compete in several international friendly games and tournaments, aiming to soon participate in competitions organized by PAFAF and IFAF.

A 12 to 15-years-old youth flag football category will be devised, with the main objective of acquiring the necessary equipment to create two age-divided youth tackle football categories in the process.
