AUSTRALIAN EARNS SCHOLARSHIP TO UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII

Australian native and former Sutherland Seahawk, Blake Muir received a scholarship offer from the University of Hawaii for this January 2011.

 

Blake is a member of the Sutherland Seahawks gridiron club playing in the 2009 Colts and Senior competitions. He played a range of positions on both offense and defense during the season including offensive tackle, tight end, defensive end, and defensive tackle and the University of Hawaii have offered a scholarship as an offensive tackle.

 

Blake attended the Pacific Island Athletic Alliance combine in Honolulu in May 2009 posting some excellent results. He went on to take visits to Hawaii, Washington State and Southern Mississippi.  Muir received walk-on offers at Oregon, Oklahoma State, Idaho, Arkansas, Kent State and Georgia Southern.

 

Blake joins a growing list of Australian players who have attended UH and will take over for fellow former Seahawk Adrian Thomas who graduated in December.

 

Blake has trained at the Sydney facility, Shire Speed and Strength with Strength and Conditioning coach Peter Upham since November 2008.
