Nova Scotia completes 21-14 come from behind OT win vs. Manitoba to open FCC day 2

Nova Scotia rallied down 14 points after three quarters of play to pull off an exciting 21-14 overtime win in the first game on the second day of the 2012 Football Canada Cup hosted by the Ontario Football Alliance (OFA) at TD Waterhouse Stadium on the campus of Western University in London, Ontario.

Manitoba opened the scoring at when starting quarterback, Foster Martens found receiver, Jayden McCoy on a 25-yard screen pass to take the early 7-0 lead. Mental mistakes prove costly for New Brunswick in FCC12 game 6 vs. Ontario East
After rushing out to an early seven point lead, turnovers and penalties proved costly for New Brunswick who could not climb out of an early deficit, dropping a 38-10 contest against Ontario East in game 6 of the 2012 Football Canada Cup hosted by the Ontario Football Alliance (OFA) at TD Waterhouse Stadium on the campus of Western University in London, Ontario.

Playing in just their second Canada Cup game since the 2002 tournament in Ottawa, New Brunswick's first 2012 tournament win looked promising early. After stopping Ontario East's opening possession, New Brunswick opened the scoring on a huge 83-yard Fred Hammond touchdown run. Hammond tallied 94-yards on the ground in the opening quarter finishing the day with a game high 125 rushing yards.

New Brunswick will now face Manitoba to open Saturday's action at 10 am ET while Ontario East will face Nova Scotia in the 5th place game. Read more...


Quebec returns to final as Saskatchewan unable to mount 4th quarter comeback
Saskatchewan was unable to mount a second consecutive 4th quarter comeback, falling 34-15 to defending champion Quebec in the 3rd game on day two at the 2012 Football Canada Cup hosted by the Ontario Football Alliance (OFA) at TD Waterhouse Stadium on the campus of Western University in London, Ontario.

Québec took the early lead on a 20-yard Michael Arruda touchdown strike to receiver, Herby Mayada on their opening drive. Late in the first quarter, Saskatchewan conceded a safety touch to make the score 9-0. Quebec added a single point on a rouge after missing a 25-yard field goal to extend the Quebec lead to 10. Alberta blanks Ontario West 35-0 to set up 2011 finals rematch with Quebec
Alberta scored early and often to shutout Ontario West 35-0 in the last game on day 2 at the 2012 Football Canada Cup, hosted by the Ontario Football Alliance (OFA) at TD Waterhouse Stadium on the campus of Western University in London, Ontario.

Alberta set the tone early in the contest as Ryder Stone took the opening kickoff 105 yards for the major.

With the win Alberta now moves on to face Quebec in 2011 gold medal finals rematch on Saturday at 7 pm ET. Ontario West will face Saskatchewan in the bronze medal game at 4pm.
